I know they share a pay grade, so I was wondering how intense the interview process is? Does anyone have experience with this transition?

My TL just went through SFT interviews. Actually, he they wouldn't tell him what position they were giving him until after the interviews and he got the position. Which I'm not sure I believe since his new boss was the one who came in to do his interview. Anyway, he said it wasn't bad. It was a lot of "tell me about a time" stuff that wanted him to speak to being big scope global...so I suspect they are about the same as SrTL interviews.

I'd imagine you would figure it out pretty quickly, since that's really the only position the DFM would get involved in interviewing for?

But yeah, like retail girl said, all of the interviews are pretty similar. They tweak the questions a little bit for those sort of unique positions (SFT, APTL, possibly HRTL too? not sure on the last one) just because they're interviewing for a role that doesn't fall directly in place with line-management operations.. Like for my interview with the APBP the questions were geared towards handling difficult guests and difficult situations, along with creating business relationships. For SFT I would imagine they are geared heavily towards FM vendor relations, or being global and creating partnerships with store leadership?

Any SFT's on the forum? We could use a little insight!

Honestly the questions are the same as the team lead and senior team lead questions. On the last page it will ask you about degrees or certifications. It's very simple if you have common sense. But sfts are not just matieience techs anymore. We are mobility leaders, guiding the team on the FM stand points. Partnering with leaders and team members on brand, at least that's what I do and I get recognized in my district for it. SFT is by far the best position I've held at target, very rewarding. But being a Sft is like a gstl very easy to be fired and replaced. Starting 08 2nd...we will have a new process red vine.....aka big brother watching us 24 7 :) if you have any questions sft I don't mind answering. But sft is what you make it. Follow core roles and assist the team. Don't be selfish.....target is a team.....lol.

I have tons of respect for STFs. I've seen STFs hired with little experience to extensive experience.

Sft isnt about experience anymore, it's more or less a strong understanding and leadership ability to strategically partnering with the team about the FM process. At least for my district it is, we also have all new stores in my district minus mine and one other. All 6-7 years old. But if you can't fix it you vendor it but that is tricky cm and pm ratio is very huge. Thankfully I haven't sent out a vendor at all so far this year. But dunno I find sft very rewarding but easy if your diligent.

There are 3 Tell me a time when... questions and then a few job specific questions at the end. For me it was two interviews. One with the FMBP and the second with the FMML. The one with the FMML was more of a meet and greet get to know you kind of interview.
