Archived Rover pick....

Don't remember who has them but they are a small robot that picks boxes from locations in a racking system.
 
Could we get them for the stores too?
Rover, go get the Ipad out of the backroom while I help these six customers and try to get someone to cover my break.

You ask the robot? lol lol lol no, the guest asks the robot : ) Also you got promoted to guest. : P
 
I asked my GM if our building was getting Roverpick, and they said that only one building is slated to get it in the next five years....and it's not ours :/ I think they said it was T555 Woodland, but I'm not 100% on that.
 
...and to clarify, my understanding is that Roverpick would act like a warehouse cartonnaire, but would deliver straight to the mezz and bypass depal. Supposedly the system will increase Outbound volumes by as much as 75%, but also requires a multi-million dollar retrofit, which is probably why every building doesn't have it already.
 
Well looks like its some sort of new sorter thats gonna replace the mods...heard its happening to a couple of DCs......
 
We're not getting a new sorter, but we're supposed to getting a big ICW upgrade, cause of how many times we lost destinations over the past several months.
 
The Rover I have seen had 4 "robots" on tracks, each servicing 2 aisles (one on each side). It would pull 2 cartons, back stock 2 cartons, pull to cartons. So on and So on. It really was fast and efficient. It was nice the aisles they serviced were as far as I could see. So really it was probably 200-300 feet on each side of storage space per "robot"
 
Cool they told us it was a sorter of some kind wonder if it will look like what uve seen
