Soooo, We have the results in from the best team survey & i guess they aren't very good. An ETL told me that our DTL is coming in this week to have chat sessions with TL's and team members. Is that a bad thing??? has this ever happened at your store??

It means they want open and honest communications, to seek to understand what the TMs issues are so they can be remedy them in a timely manner.

And if you believe that I have some very nice glacier property to sell you.
This is a glad hand effort to get everyone on the same page.
There's a chance they might shuffle some ETLs if you guys stay strong and be honest but the stuff that really matters isn't going to change.

And you can bet they are going to be watching to see who has the loudest voice at the meetings.

Who's going to be watching, are you talking about etl's and stl watching who has the loudest voice at the meetings?? Ireally don't see anything wrong with the store as far as leadership. I know a lot of tm's are mad about the whole 4x4 process thats going on but what they don't understand is its a company wide thing.

Well if people are so unhappy it brought the scores down Spot sees that as poor management skills.
You should be happy little campers, marching to the tune and since the numbers don't show that, they want to know why.

Keep in mind, if it's things like low pay, crappy hours, or 4x4s they really don't care.
They just want you to stop complaining about it.

Well put. It's just an opportunity to see if a real problem exists. If it's just a few squeaky wheels that complain about the tasks in general then let's coach them on out. However, if it is a leadership issue, let's see if we have to kindly ask someone to leave.

I'm sure they have enough data to control for the squeaky wheels since you'll find them at every store. Where the survey is really useful is district level and above. A bad store is going to stand out from the others, same with a good store. You can look at an individual store's survey to gain some insight into what they're doing right or wrong, but it's in comparing one store's scores to the thousands of others where you find real value in the data.

Which is not to say that individual stores aren't going to freak out over the minutiae of their results and make stupid changes as a result, because that will happen too.

Got new STL and score went from green to red. Stayed red during entire tenure, all operation scores remained green, 3rd in district. STL leaves, survey goes red to green, operation scores dip to red, 7th in district. Just a thought.

My store's results were quite bad. I haven't actually seen the results on paper, just heard about them. From really green to quite yellow/red in a year! Yeah! (insert sarcasm here).

We had a TL chat with our DTL earlier this year (about other stuff) and hardly anything changed from that so I doubt a BTS chat session will do anything more.
@commiecorvus What can happen to those with the loudest voice in the room? (Probably a TARGET on their back, huh? hahaha).

Supposedly we had one of the higher scores in our district, which means every other store must be REALLY unhappy. Supposedly they will be scheduling chat sessions, but we've never had them in the past, and even if we do, it's not like front end will be able to get off the floor to go.

Nothing right away.
They don't want to look like they are going to be 'out to get' anyone who speaks their mind' but you can bet they'll be Makin a List and Checkin it Twice.

My store is having chat sessions, I'm tempted to attend and speak my mind, since I'm probably on my way out in a month.

Thi has happened at my store for the past few years...At my store the DTL came in today and sat with the ETLs for over 3 hours then walked the store. Friday is the TL results chat session and its going to be the ETL-HR and STL which sucks because the STL is the main cause most of us are so unhappy and noone will say crap in front of him cause he retaliates hard core. The ETL-HR was telling me last week how much he likes me and I said "no way! then why doesnt he act like it?" hes a total douche to everyone

Also the last couple years the TL scores have been so bad the DTL came in and hosted our chat session but nothing ever changed. this year the score was good but we have a couple new cheerleader TL's so im sure thats why

Complaining is a waste of time. Just plaster a smile on your face & work because a job at Target is so fast, fun & friendly.

I recently found out my store went from green to red. 3 ETL's have left, so far only 1 replaced. They left of their own accord because of our STL. I'm dying to hear any feedback. Just curious to hear the spin on any negative results.

Do they do chat session's with all team members still? I haven't been a part of once since I was first hired, I didn't think we did them any more. I'd love to put my two cents in but I'd probably get even more bull crap from my supervisors than I already do.

I am doing mine tomorrow. Our HR ETL was trying to be shady and do our chat session on a day where half the Plano/In-Stocks teams were off. I was so proud of the TL's they said "Nope!" So we are supposed to do it tomorrow. The last one was not pretty and I don't expect this one will be any better.

I'm sure they don't give a rats ass about speaking to anyone below the real TL pay grade. But I also cannot imagine that I would ever feel like I could speak freely to the DTL no matter what my position.

I have found DTLs if they have their heads screwed on straight, like it. Very telling to them. But you have to know the DTL.

Of course backroom chat was during the morning and i work nights. I'm not gonna tell the truth so it doesn't matter. I'll have a nice little chat though. Maybe hold back some tears.

Our DTL is very fair, he hates everyone. lol Seriously, he is not the FF&F type. He had no sense of humor (I've never seen him smile.) As far as I know, he never talks to lowly TMs.

Our DTL is new as of January...seems nice enough, she's never said one word to me, though, so I don't know. The SrGSTL (you know, an LOD in our building) has no clue who she is...after seven months they still have yet to even meet/talk. I find that incredibly sad. She, of course, is more than fine with it, but I think it speaks to the clique going on in our upper management that she clearly is not a part of.

i hate when our dtl visits... he always has these suggestions that make no sense.. he wants us to go around the whole store and zip tie all the fencing... uh no... not happening
