Ever since we switched to MyTime a couple of weeks ago, this has shown up as my workcenter a couple of times. It didn't show up when we used MAX FSTL, so I don't know what it means. I'm normally a hardlines TM with a bit of training in SL.

At my store, Consumables consists of all of market, pets, chemicals, and paper. Technically, it's supposed to include infant consumables (baby food and formula) as well, but softlines handles them instead.

This is how it is for my store as well, but LOD's tend to use Hardlines, Softlines, Consumables, and Cashier shifts interchangeably, so it doesn't mean a whole lot.

According to best practice, "Consumables" consists of pfresh, market, paper, pets, chemicals, etc. That "ETC" is where your store can come in and joyfully add whatever the hell they want. Though I've been working with my ETL on just running it as pfresh/market, since including other workcenters hasn't been working too well. In my store we have some tms who are basically just pfresh/market oriented, some tms that are basically just the rest of hardlines oriented. The problem is when you get the stars that can do both and you want to utilize them for food, guess what workcenter gets shafted by the higher ups? Ahh, the joys of being CTL....

My store has a team leader drought right now, so I get the odious joy of doing all of G, paper, pets, chemical, mini seasonal, assisting front end with their planners and dealing with the random small appliances or domestic pog that slips by the other two TLs that work primarily hardlines.

All with a total of four TMs under me, one of whom is my PA.

Yeah. Fake ties all day, every day. Bullshitted 4x4s. And they wonder why TM and TL morale is at an all time low. It's just a minor miracle we didn't end up as a BTS red focus.

@Market Boy
I don't even bother asking to develop TMs anymore. I got told, to my face and in as many words, by both our SrTLs that, "(I) don't get all the good employees".

The turnover at my store in the past year has been incredible. STL, ETLs, TLs. It's like watching people jump overboard and try to swim to shore than stay in the ship that is taking on water. We do what we can, but gone are the days of breaking my back to run a marathon with no finish line in sight. I will take BOTH of my 15's every shift now, thank you very much.

We used to schedule a SL TM under consumables once a day for 4 hours to take care of Infant Hardlines since a significant portion of Consumables sales does actually come from Infants.

Now we don't have the 28 hour to spare under consumables.
