So, I have a lead (can schedule an interview) for a job outside of Spot. I'm both excited, and nervous.

I feel okay about disclosing what it is, since it's pretty generic and doesn't contain any identifying information.

The job would be providing customer service for a Property Management firm- it's an entry level position answering the phone, providing customer service, creating related communications and work orders, and assisting with a variety of projects. The career growth opportunities would lead to becoming an assistant portfolio manager, and eventually the manager of a portfolio of communities.

I'd be taking a slight cut in wage (0.39/hr cut) but I'd actually be making more money, as this job would be full-time with benefits. Spot's erratic scheduling has left a bad taste in my mouth.

Change is scary... I'm going to give them a call on Monday to see what's up.

Change is scary.. find out the specifics of customer service and phone calls. What kind of property management co. is it? For condos or apartments? commercial property? You will get numerous calls about toilets being backed up. Heat not working - someone is parking in my space. You will be scheduling maintenance, making sure it's prop. management problem and not tenant problem.. Yes, different then target crap, but make sure you know what the job entails and what they mean by career growth opportunities.. Is it in months, or years. What is their turn over rate for receptionists? What about managers?
When do benefits kick in? How much do you have to pay for the benefits? Have you researched the management co? How long do they keep their clients? Is it a family run place? Or a big corp? Do they give regular raises? What's their probation period?
All questions you should ask before you accept the job.

well, i ended up not going through with that one. didn't like the commute and the pay cut.

but, today i got a call from costco! about an hour after i put in an application online. they were closed by the time i could get back to them, but the lady wanted to set up an interview with me. calling them back first thing tomorrow.

Good luck on the Costco interview.
I hope you get it.

Several former TMs at my store jumped ship to go to Costco. Imagine, regular scheduling, full shifts, overtime pay if working longer than your shift, higher pay, and benefits even for part time. That's why Costco's reputation with employees rocks and Spot's ?????

Bad news... had some back and forth with Costco

They called on Friday evening (I missed it because I was having dinner with my parents). I called them back 20 minutes later and no one answered. Administrative staff had all gone home.
I called Saturday morning, they told me "[HR person] isn't here, but we can take a message, she'll call you back Sunday or Monday."
Today they called me at 4 telling me 'We have temporarily postponed interviews, but if you don't hear back within 6 weeks you can reapply'

Oh well, looks like I'm still working for the big red circles for the time being
