So at work today, I worked a 7 hour shift, but i didn't take my lunch within 6 hours. I didn't know lunch had to be within the first 6 hours of work, and then my GSA told me during my lunch. My first 90 days ends this week. What will happen? Anything?

It depends on the store and what state you're in. Sometimes it's a minor talking to, and sometimes it's a big deal.

Unfortunately, if you're at a store where they've had a lot of compliance issues and they are cracking down, you might get written up.
If they are in good shape you could just get a talking too where you can promise never to do it again.

Keep in mind, it is important that you never do it again.

My GSA said i'll probably get a coaching. Is a coaching bad (I'm still under 90 days), and how long will it be before they talk to me about it?

Coaching is mostly a strong talking to.
Considering it's compliance, it will be put in writing.
Like I said the important thing is to never do it again.

As to being under your 90, it's going to depend a lot on how good a worker you are otherwise.
If you have a great reputation and have proven yourself, are popular with your TL and ETL, and they need bodies, you should be fine.
Otherwise they will use it as an excuse.

If you're worried about being under your 90 days, I wouldn't be. If this is your first compliance issue I would just talk with you, informally, about taking your breaks on time. I wouldn't have held it against you. I would say you're in the clear - just be cautious about doing it again. Best of luck!

Funny story this same thing happened to me 2 weeks ago. What happened to me was HR called me up to the TSC and reminded me of the 30 minute meal and told me to watch it next time and then i signed this thing. I wouldn't worry to to much about it, Just make sure you take your meal breaks before 5 hours ( i now do mine at 4 hours weather we are busy or not 4 hours)

Do you think I should approach my GSTL or wait until somebody says something to me first?

Me, personally, I would approach it as "I made a mistake and I wanted to let you know I'll see it doesn't happen again." I did this when I clocked out late because my personal opinion is it's better for management to find out you made a mistake from you than the report that they get each day, it shows you're committed to doing a good job.

I did this in my first 90 days... twice (oops). The second time I knew it was grounds for termination so right before my shift I talked with the LOD, explained the situation, and she talked with the STL about it. Basically I begged to keep my job.

We all make mistakes. I would talk to your tl and say...hey I made a mistake. I apologize. Shows that you realized that you made a mistake and you are accountable for your actions.

As a team lead I get in more trouble than the team member does if someone hits compliance unless it's a repeat offender. as a GSTL if a cashier hits compliance that's pretty much all on me if i'm there.

I'm a cart attendant. My GSAs normally try to keep track of my breaks and lunch, but we were so busy that I guess he just never noticed I hadn't taken my lunch. When I told him I still hadn't gone, he told me to clock out immediately and the I'd probably get coached.

yep, i'd be getting talked to as to why i let you go on compliance. In my store it's not a huge deal as long as you don't keep doing it. A lot of people look at coachings in a bad way but sometimes it's just Hey, you're doing x and you should not be doing x, why are you doing it, what can i do to help you be better, and let's do it this way.
If i have to keep talking to you about it that's when it becomes more serious.
Just watch the clock better next time! :)

I asked my ETL GE and she said ETL HR would just have me sign a paper and that it shouldn't matter that I'm under my 90.

Nobody said anything to me today. How long does it normally take?

Usually if you don't hear within a week you'll be fine. It will be your ETL, TL, or ETL-HR that talks with you. Some don't take compliance as seriously as others so you may never hear about it the first time.

I'm really worried they're not saying anything now because they're going to term me after Black Friday. Sunday is the last day of my probation period...

They won't term you on Black Friday I promise.
In fact the longer they go without saying anything the better.
You've spoken up and said your piece now just put your head down and do a good job.
They just might forget all about it.

If we were terming a TM within 90 days we had to do it before their 70 day mark. It would take something major to get canned between 70-90 and compliance isn't that major, even in a state that fines a store for each TM in compliance.
