Well after much thought and consideration I have decided to put my two weeks in some time in January or February depending on if I can find a job. I want to work at a place that will recognize my experience and have me at a supervisor position. I want to leave on good terms and since I am a good team trainer and only one of three team members who knows cash office, out of respect for them I am waiting.

Good luck, I'm sure things are going to work out just fine.
And don't worry to much about too much about Spot.
It's good that you have a work ethic but they would cut you loose without a thought so ...

experience in what, retail? After 9 years you're not a TL, or is that something you didn't want to become?

I have been trying to become a TL for a long time and working on my skills and reapplying each time the position opened up.

I apologize if my post sounded bad. My post sounded rough but it wasn't meant to be that way. Just curious to see why you weren't a TL yet.

I wonder why you have been overlooked. Check out Home Depot (which I heard was great) or Lowes. They have supervisor positions that pay well. Also Home Depot has online warehouses that only work M-F. My old ETL-Replen went there and is loving it. Doing the same job just M-F, better pay, better work/life balance.

9 years of retail can be a benefit if you are going into another retail position. If you want a supervisor position focus on tasks that you had that require supervisor skills. Think leadership more than physical labor. Focus on how that impacted numbers and how you contributed to maintaining Green scores.

Plenty of retail jobs available - Good luck on your search!

Hey Mhugh, it is ok. I did not take your comments negatively. well I believe I have been overlooked because of bias on the parts of our ETL GE, and the fact that she clearly plays favorites and will only promote who she wants. I have been working on the skills she said I need to work on such as "being bold" and making quick decisions I have watched the lanes for the GSA/GSTL when they go on their breaks. I also have done GS, and I am also trained in cash office and understand time management and responsibility. well hey atleast I have a lot of transferable skills.

I'm almost out of this hell! I had a few interviews that went very well I think. Ill be working as an archivist at a library, I am going to stay with Target for maybe one day a week on Sundays now until I get to October for the 10yrs and than sever the cord as they say. My wife is so happy for me that I am getting away from so much stress that has basically been killing me health wise.

I would love to be an archivist or a historian for the Ballet Russe , or a furniture maker.
Congratulations to you ! I am very happy for you and wish you the best.
I would NEVER want to be a TL, only thing worse is a GSA.
You have much more to offer

I gave Target my best and got very little in return... I am going to a place that will appreciate my talents! I already have my last day planned... Im going to ENFORCE all the policies with coupons. :D

Yeah!!!! I would love that. I think it is shameful that target doesnt appreciate and value tms like you. It actually hurts it seems so unfair to me the way some peoples efforts arent rewarded. Serves them right, they will end up with the staff they deserve. Just look at this mass exodus the last 2 wks
Living well is the best reward
I like your wifes attitude. Looking out for her man!

Rock on, thetargetman!
The best revenge is to succeed.
I'll be out the door behind you.

yea, as I am sure you would guess it is not just for her. It took one look in the mirror one day to see that I had to do something. Many other TMs are leaving too and I am so happy for them too.

Wait for 10 year anniversary.
yea I am definitely waiting till after October 18th to put my 2 weeks in. I am also holding off on using my vacation hours so I can get the maximum best possible last pay check I can get from Target. I also want to get my 10yr prize. :D
