This would be super nice if it happened! To your point, I've already had to shell out nickels instead of pennies for transactions which end like that and it bugs me. Most guests tend to say they don't even want the nickel though lol

I'll have to ask if any of my TLs or the SD have tried that yet. The closing TL brought several rolls of pennies right when the announcement was made but those all were given out by the SCOs pretty quickly. Seems like an uphill battle at this point

I agree, but that's the justification Spot has given our store for why they won't send us pennies anymore. It's extremely stupid

According to leadership there are no plans to update the SCOs at any point based on what they've been told. I also support ending the penny but I think the fact Target is just done sending our store pennies is an extremely shortsighted decision. Either they need to start sending them again or...

ASANTS but the HR expert at my store works close to 40 hours a week every week. However only half of their responsibilities are HR-related, as the rest of their work is just support (usually at checkout)

Welcome back! 2025 was an interesting year at Target. Who knows what 2026 has in store, considering all the new initiatives they have to wade off retail death- I mean, improve the store experience for guests and TMs :D /s

For reference, I work at a small format store with only two real registers, two myCheckouts and five next-gen SCOs (not the NCR death machines). We also have three new myCheckouts, but we almost never use them because they almost never work and the most used bank card in my area does not work...

It wouldn't be too surprising. This is how my store has operated for over a year now. The closing TL is almost always doing OPUs and trying to make the backroom "brand" again because it rarely is. Our old SD would go into priority pulls too if we were too backed up with other things

Right now our goal is 75% but it used to be 90%. For the longest time we always got our priorities down to 0 DPCIs every night - hasn't happened in weeks :(
