My store has pieces of paper at the SD. Just need the guest name, what day they need the boxes (truck days only) and what sizes. Flow TL clips the paper to a cart and we set them aside in the BR. Really weird that a lot of stores don't do that.

While that's very guest friendly, I think it's too much. Target isn't a free box supplier. If you want free boxes, come in early morning on a truck day and take them out of the cages on the floor yourself.

No, cause we know what are good ones and which are crap and we are so used to sorting things out it doesn't take much really. And it keeps people out of our way. How I feel anyways.. You may differ 😀

I'm genuinely surprised you guys are all so willing to give stuff away. Cardboard is not trash, we get paid for our bales, and it's not a negligible amount either. I'm not saying I won't give guests a few boxes if they ask, but essentially taking orders for boxes seems insane.

This is true. While we don't reserve them, we will let them get what they want. If they want them unbroken Ap meets them at the door to make sure they are empty. This makes people happy so we do it.

You don't get paid that much and really we have discovered that happy guests tend to come for other things rather than go to the clothing discount and salvage store nearby.

Exactly, we probably give away 1-2 carts of cardboard a week. The guest has to come into the store to get it, which is a potential sale and they remember that we gave them cardboard.
