Specialty My Job Changed Overnight—Now My Hours Are Disappearing

I could really use some advice from those who have been in a similar position.

I was hired as an HR Expert, excited to apply my skills and experience to foster workplace excellence. However, after just two months, I was moved to a different requisition without explanation. Since then, I’ve spent the past five months as a Tech Consultant, adjusting and making the most of the transition.

Lately, though, my work hours have been drastically reduced—this next week, I’m only scheduled for four hours, and the following week, nothing. This has been happening for a month now, and it’s raising serious concerns about my stability and future within the company.

I want to make a strategic decision about my next steps, but I’m unsure how to approach this situation. Should I push for more clarity internally? Start actively looking elsewhere? Has anyone else navigated a similar role shift and sudden drop in hours?

Any insights, experiences, or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Seems like they are trying to get rid of you without having to actually fire you. When downgrading your role didn’t work, they are now playing the lost hours game, hoping you’ll quit.

First off, why did you use ChatGPT to write this for you? Second off, this is sadly common at Spot. Sounds like someone higher up the chain is out to get you and they're looking to push you out. Really sorry about that but it's probably time to look for another job if this continues
