I am being offered the position of “Fullfilment Expert”. I already looked up what they do and it doesn’t sound so bad, but can someone actually tell me what it’s like for them? Is it difficult especially around the holidays? Is this position worth it? I’m actually quite nervous if I’m being honest.

It’s fairly simple. After a few shifts you should feel more confortable in the role. A lot is really getting used to lots of walking, store layout and Target terminology. There’s two “picking” processes. OPU (Order Pick Up) and SFS (Ship From Store). OPU also has Grocery Pick Up which is the same thing only specifically for food products and those have their own designated locations to be put away in. For SFS you take those products to the back to the packing area and then they’re packed. Packing is the other thing you do in Fufillment.

Overall simple. I find fulfillment to be a fun area to work in.

If your leaders are efficient with their scheduling, and you also learn how to read deadlines on MPM and the Pack&Ship App, you should be good on the deadline side of things as long as you maintain consistency in your speed and willingness to learn.

When you start, get them to teach how to read those metrics.

The other thing. INF (item not found). Always partner with the DBO’s (specialist TM’s) of the departments those items are in and/or TL’s of said departments or that you respond to before INF’ing anything. You can skip items you’re having issues finding, and can leave them all for last so you can partner with whoever you have to in order to make the decision.
