MEGATHREAD Signing Tips, Tricks and Quips (along with howls of despair)

Yeah. Although our Lunchables pog set with space grid last week. Was that an outlier?
Ours set with regular shelves + wanting regular pushers/ the shelf dual pushers ; Didn't call for the Space Grid during the transition unless I missed that during the POG Review (but I didn't see the line listing say space grid) - That may explain why we have 3 pallets of fixtures up in the steel.

I'll have to check tomorrow evening to make sure. (and of course we didn't have enough pushers lol)

Looks like CEVA shorted me a signing kit… that’s fun. It said we got two of 1097 kit, but we only got one.

These are the 7x13 containment bins

Does anybody in your store go around late Saturday or early Sunday and actually pull down the expired promotional sales signs from the prior week? This seems to be getting worse at our store, and causes some embarrassing moments at the checkout lanes where a guest claims they should have gotten some "deal" from last week. It's not their job to glance at the fine-print expiry date on the lower-right-hand part of the sale sign. We don't have an easy way to verify what the guest is saying -- unless it's a real small-dollar price change, it's hard to know exactly which items qualified for what deal last week since there's not a database of recent expired store promos.

Yes, late on Saturday, although a few are always missed. Sometimes, a lot are missed.

I set ad on Sundays and most weeks, almost all the old signs are taken down before we start putting up the new ones.

Confession: there are times when I find an old sign in my own area and it might have been expired for a couple of weeks or even longer. Usually, it's because it got folded up under the shelf, trapped by product. Still, I always feel a little embarrassed when I find one.

They’re supposed to be taken down Saturday night. Closers should be removing them during their zones. Or follow a routine take down at whatever time close to closing. When I used to close, I’d carry a bag on my tier and remove as I zoned around 8 or 9. But I’ve noticed now as an opener that closers don’t remove them anymore. Sometimes a whole department is still up. It’s kinda annoying

We’ve started setting bts at our store. It’s actually a relief to have this head start. Fridays our first 14 stock goal for stationary and it’s going straight to the shelves. I’m excited because we’re used to dealing with palletizing and long long days of prios and pallet push for the sets. We were just pending some of the signing but I think the rest came in today 🤞🏼

You have closers that zone? huh. Haven't had that in years.

I’m told every day that the priority is zone, but no one zones throughout the day (no fault of dayside just no time/ hours) and my zoners typically have to do priority pulls, push reshop/ truck, back up register, or back up fulfillment for so much of their shift that it’s no possible to get a detailed zone across the whole store.

But literally every single freaking day I have to listen to an ETL or SD remind me that “zone is priority” and “target wants a perfect zone every night” meanwhile closing expert hours are absolutely non existent. we literally get 28-35 hours a week for closing experts. enough for like one 4 hours shift each day.

Not even halfway through BTS set and have people with a school list going through.
And they wonder why we have INF's.
They'll be asking for Halloween in 2 weeks.🤣
Just a thought, but I think the merchandise should not start flowing till mid week the week the pog's are due.

They've at least gotten better since I joined Target. Used to be 2 or 3 weeks out. Now it's 4 to 10 days.
