This is something I don't understand. Growing up, my family almost never went out shopping after dark. Occasionally around the holidays we may hit the mall to pick up some gifts, but that was when we were older.

I am a big fan of shopping, and I'm also a night owl, but to this day I almost never leave the house to go shopping at night. Yet these people are keeping their little ones out after 9:00 to browse Target? I don't get it lol.

This was after at least 25 minutes of kicking and whining and the little one screaming to the point of choking that she said this. Oy, we had a kid doing the same thing a few weeks ago while Mom browsed all through Style. This kid was crying and wandering off and his mother had to yell for him several times, and at one point he was whining and crying and yelling so much he started coughing and choking.

I really do miss the days when parents would remove their children rather than cause a scene in public.

I can sympathize if someone has no choice but to bring their kid because they don’t have anyone to watch them at home. But I get sad when I see both parents out with their 3 year old when the store is about to close. One of them could’ve stayed home.
 
TTOG: Overheard but didn't see you talking to your kids (making some assumptions here), but thank you so much for telling your kids that unfolding clothes in the Big Girls' area and leaving them in a heap is not a nice thing. You said that the store workers don't appreciate having to refold all of them and restack them. You might be the same mom I heard saying something similar in the back of the store a couple weeks or so ago. I'm actually hoping not because that would mean there are at least two moms like you out there! Either way, I appreciate that you're teaching your kids to have respect for others. Thank you!
 
TTOG: You came up just after opening, order a purchase less than $10 & attempted to pay with a $100 bill.
I said I couldn't break it & you asked "Seriously?!"
Yep, so I suggested you go to the Service desk & have them break it while we made/held your order.
You came back cheesed off that they made you purchase something; tough shit.
I'm not an ATM & I'm NOT waiting 45 min to an hour to get my change replenished because of your piddlin' order.
 
TTOG (maybe 12 years old): Thanks for letting me know about the broken bottle in the shampoo aisle. It was kind of a mess, but it would have been a lot worse if others tracked through it.
Have to say I was a little surprised that you're so young but still took responsibility to find one of us workers and say something. Good for you! I have a feeling you're going to grow up to be a responsible adult who does the right thing.
(Possible that he or his younger sibling is the one who made the bottle fall on the floor and break. Still giving him credit for saying something.)
 
TTOG, thank you for the opportunity to train my gag reflex to levels only witnessed in the porn industry. Your multi-textured masterpiece was too good for a simple toilet. For thirty minutes I experienced your world, and your diet, in a way that I will never forget. Though I don't know you and may never will, I feel as if we've shared so much.

So why the f**k do you come up later asking for sugar packets & cream?
I even asked if you needed any because our condiment bar just holds napkins & stir sticks.

TT OTHER G: You made a $6 purchase & paid for it with a $100 before I could stop my little newbie so you cleaned our our bills. I made a point of calling my TL to request more change while you stood there continuing to recount your change insinuating my newbie shortchanged you. Then, when my leader brought me more bills, you had the GALL to ask me to swap out the change my newbie gave you so you could get the denominations you wanted. I took great pleasure in telling you "Nope" & ignored you for my next guest.
 
TTOG: I truly am sorry that we didn't have your sugar free pistachio pudding in stock and thank *you* for being good about after I steered you away from the service desk (who you were about to complain to). Instead we talked it out and I made some suggestions and you left satisfied. I'm glad I could help in some way, even if it wasn't exactly what you had hoped for. 😀

Our guests go to service desk a lot FIRST then to the department.

TTOG (well, two, since they were a couple): Don't care how cute your little, fluffy, white dog is. If a dog growls at people in a public place, the dog should not be brought into public places, especially ones that are having a busy Sunday and often has young children around. One day, one of those little children will reach out to pet your dog, perhaps when their parent is distracted, not knowing that they really shouldn't pet strange dogs. And your little dog's sharp teeth are going to create a big problem. Leave your dog home, for the sake of everyone's safety.

I hate when guests bring dogs in the store. Service dogs are ok but, all others should stay home. I don’t care the breed or size!!
 
TAllMyGuestsToday: I'm glad I can make your experience fun, even if you didn't find everything you need. It's part of my MO honestly. I've seen some of my fellow advocates be downright cranky to guests for no reason and it sucks.

I have my moments too of course, but I really try not to let guests see that I'm internally melting lol.

This. Sooner or later a guest (or worse, a child) will be bitten by a 'pet' who NEVER should've been let out & Target will likely be the one sued.
My state recently passed a law with penalties for passing a pet or 'ESA' off as a service dog. Just wish Target had the balls to enforce the 'no pet' policy.
 
I never tell the guests were are closing soon because they obviously didn't hear all the LOUD announcements.

I always thought it would be funny if they lost their keys and/or phone at that same time.
 
To that one guest: Hey, thanks for bringing your dog in the store only for it to puke all over the floor in front of guest services! A couple kids stepped right in it, that was fun to deal with complaining parents! Take your dog out of Target and bring it to the vet, and keep it home and outside!

One night on a closing shift I told a guest that we were closing. The guest said he only needed to grab some milk then he’d check out. The guest was nowhere near the milk still looking at other things.

To the Complaining Parents Guests: Dog vomit is not invisible. Where were you when your kids stepped in it while you should have been watching them? Poorly supervised kids can fall victim to worse things than stepping in something. Years ago some criminal tried to snatch a little kid right out of a local store. Luckily guests who were watching closer than the parents were stopped him and the guy got busted. Two things cannot be watched too closely: Fire and kids. Watch your kids, keep them safe and you won’t have stuff like stepping in dog vomit to complain about. And just so you know, whatever you are unhappy about at Target is not the fault of the first TM you see, so try giving them a break one in a while.🤬

In my experience, most of the disgusting excretory messes in stores are not caused by four-legged visitors but by human guests, including the disgusting dump that someone left on our week-old new rug and the urine sprayed all over one of the fitting room stalls and all the clothing left in it by some Mother’s little darling. Not to mention what goes on in the restrooms. And humans are supposed to know better. Honestly, our guests sometimes…
