Might I add gscl (dc’s) are not current priority and things may very well not be able to be operational until tomorrow. Huge impact, especially weekend before Christmas.
Basically the only departments that are able to work are mbp/pack and warehouse. Essentially we can not receive freight or send freight out. Even though warehouse is able to operate they essentially stopped due to backlog. 1 shift of tm’s was vle’d which is huge.
From my understanding fdc’s...
Distribution is different than hq. Distribution gets an allocation of merit roles based on headcount and forecasts each year. This allows them to year over year decrease numbers in roles. These roles have been decreasing the past couple years already
The warehouse drop (reserve cartons picked to send to ob) was 3x what the forecast was for that day. Meaning, if hq forecasted 100k cartons that day, it was 300k, which would’ve crazy.
I don’t think anything is “up”. There is simply a ton of pressure on all levels of management. More is being asked and there are less OMs to accomplish those asks (at least in our dc). There used to be 2 oms per department and now there is only one with more expected to be done.
Your om’s should be getting a prep packet from hr and it is their responsibility to ensure you are prepped correctly. If they are not they are doing you a disservice and their peers that are doing the interview.
I’m surprised it took so long to ditch AR. Didn’t seem to save the amount of hours at stores as they thought it would. It only made the rest of the building less efficient.
