Is your store falling apart like mine?

Knowing you had 48 TL's come and go is the wild part for me. I can't imagine counting and keeping track of this figure.

What could be the reason for application for on demand being no longer considered?

I applied for On Demand a few months ago, got asked to do the interview, was then told no positions were available. Current job pays better than Target, made it clear in my application that I wouldn't accept a position that wasn't On Demand or TL, because quitting my current job for a position...

When a customer requests a gift receipt should I ring up those items separate?

This sounds like selecting which items to mark as purchased from a registry. Gift receipts are just generically for the entire receipt.

    Clock in for each other

Had a long-term Guest Service Team Member get fired for time clock fraud at my store. If HR catches wind of this behavior, both employees will be gone, instantly.

Target pulls the plug on self checkouts

We used to mostly have 2 cashiers as well. 1 would be an actual cashier. The other would be scheduled as service advocate, and would be doing everything else (order pickup, driveups, service desk, return to stock, etc.). 2 actual checkout advocates though sounds like improvement, unless that's 2...

    New Clearance Policy?

I am not saying I think it is a company policy, but your comparison also isn't appropriate. It can be more worthwhile to take the write-off than to sell at 30%, 50%, or 70% off, while not being more worthwhile than selling at 100%. I doubt 30% off is less profitable than the write-off to be...

Target pulls the plug on self checkouts

Except that, it does. Fulfillment was usually roughly 1/3 of our total sales. We'd do 40-50 thousand in fulfillment sales in a day where we did 150ish total.

Target pulls the plug on self checkouts

I know when this move to reduce usage of SCO started, there really wasn't a substantial increase in hours scheduled for cashiers. Is this still the case, or over time have most locations actually gotten more hours than they did when SCO was more heavily utilized?

    TL scheduled hours

My store never cut TL's hours, unless they volunteered, but ASANTS. One of my TL's stayed at 40, the other often voluntarily dipped during the slow times of the year so the team could have more hours.

Time Wasters that my TL makes me do.

I mean, it's probably true, but more of a correlation than a causation thing. Well-staffed stores are more likely to be well-zoned. Well-staffed stores are also likely to have less theft. Some people will blatantly steal right in front of you, but most are less likely to steal if they see TM's...

    Line coming back?

Never knew any stores used a process other than the line in the first place. Our store switched from truck unload at 4 AM to 6 PM though, and as far as I know, never switched back, even when all the other stores in the area gave up on evening unloads and went back to mornings.

    Becoming a TL

A good while, background check for some reason took much longer than I expected, official first day is tomorrow now.

Service & Engagement New SCO Pilot

I enforced it, but with pretty severe leniency. I was not counting people's items. I did not care if they had 12 instead of 10. But if it was obvious that they had 20-30+ items I'd direct them to a regular checkout.

    Becoming a TL

Not sure, still not started. I applied for Customer Service Team Leader, HR emailed me, asked me to come in and interview for it. I then interviewed with a GM/Service Lines Leader (it was at Meijer, this is the equivalent of an ETL), they told me the position I applied for was actually already...

    Becoming an ETL

We had a new ETL-SPS recently that thought the best way to communicate was to scream at people. She screamed at multiple TL's who'd worked for the company for years within her first couple weeks. I left soon after, so not sure how many TL's she's going to drive away, but I suspect the answer...
