Been with Target since 2001, a lot has changed. Being a former Specialist, I felt like I had a valued and respected role until they swept that out from under us. Even my title now is empty, I am a Photo TM with no lab hours to take care of it. Isn't it funny how no one thinks of your knowledge in that workcenter until something breaks down or a guest wants a calendar made? I hope the Corporate monkeys will wake up someday soon and stop drinking the Kool-Aid. Instead of cutting hours and positions to the bone they need to invest in their employees and their brick and mortar stores. Technology on a guests phone will only help them up to a point. There will be no "amazing" service scores across the board until you put team members in a position that will allow them to put the guests needs first and not play a game of beat the clock, trying to finish their projects before their shift ends. I guess we will all wait and see what happens down the line after all the Canada stores are closed. Will things get better in the states? Or will we be next in line for massive closures? Time will tell. I spent many years cross training to be a valuable TM to my store, I suppose I should have moved on after AE2009.
