The skeleton crew thing is getting really old really fast

It isn't looking too bad right now because ETLs are even doing lots of floor and OPU stuff, but I wonder how long it'll last before even that can't save the lack of payroll.

The skeleton crew thing is getting really old really fast

This is the problem. OPU is resurrected Jesus Christ at this point, and the rest of the store merely peons that exist to support it. The front end gets robbed to help OPU. The floor gets robbed to help the front end. The shit doesn't get done. We all hear about it later.

The skeleton crew thing is getting really old really fast

I don't expect 100%. I expect to have more than 1 or 2 people on register because we've been robbed of everyone else. They're cutting into bone here, the hours simply aren't enough for any amount of reasonable work and people are only going to power through so long.

    ETL scheduling

Yeah that's what puzzles me. Do they put it on the application? There's something rotten when they're always a problem to deal with. I'd rather deal with most other managers than our HR ETL

    ETL scheduling

We never keep HR tms long, though at my store it's because they have a tendency to hire utter witches for the role of HR ETL. I've never had an HR ETL that wasn't an asshole.

    Market hrs

Don't talk such rot, the stores can make do without! In fact we should cut the hours MORE! /s

The skeleton crew thing is getting really old really fast

The location I'm at is lucky enough not to be hit too hard by the boycott (we still didn't make numbers a lot for a while) because we're a blue dot in a red ocean and we have apple pay. There's 4 colleges in about 20 miles and all these kids use apple pay. I've had so many complaints in the...

    Reliability points system

Despite being in a store and not a DC I propose the idea that it works like the Russian system: "everything" is disallowed that way you can get rid of anyone you don't like anytime you like because everyone is breaking the rules. That's what it seems like to me. Lots of people calling out and...

The skeleton crew thing is getting really old really fast

For the front end, we give a bunch of our cashiers to OPU and DU, which means we have to call backup cashiers, which means the floor work isn't getting done quick enough. But our OPU metrics are green so nobody in management gives a shit idk

The skeleton crew thing is getting really old really fast

We've had a lot of Gen Zers just up and quit when asked to do too much. "That's not what I was hired for" which I am beginning more and more to understand. The store's inability to schedule shouldn't be our job to fix. One person should not be asked to do more and more and more, and then induce...

The skeleton crew thing is getting really old really fast

Yeah. On the upside I've never seen so many TLs and ETLs doing basic grunt work. Wonder how long it'll be before that becomes a primary thing for TLs to do

The skeleton crew thing is getting really old really fast

It's become a habit, I'm sure you've noticed, of every department in the store being robbed of people to help OPU/DU. Last night was the most egregious example I've seen yet. No one scheduled for GS after 5 pm. So guess what? The front end loses 3 cashiers including the person who has to later...

    How Target has fallen...

Unless it's fulfillment/OPU/DU in which case, we rob every other department to keep it green!

    How Target has fallen...

At my store everything front end is sacrificed to the great god of OPU/DU. Multiple times I'll come in to a decent schedule only for GS to steal everyone that knows OPU and DU, leaving us with one cashier and relying on backup calls. Even on the weekends. Funny, we never stopped hiring after...

    Target’s Vision

At my store and several near me they cut a part out of seasonal to expand receiving. Maybe they'll do that.

    Target’s Vision

It's happening here too. Usually there's a lull in hiring after BTS is over. Not so right now. New people constantly.

    Target’s Vision

I'm honestly shocked about it myself. We have a lot of people leaving at our store, and normally there's a lull before the holiday hiring starts. But we're hiring still. I feel like Varys at this point. The big fish eat the little, and I keep on paddling. It is WEIRD being the most senior...

    I have returned briefly.

Well yeah but imagine you're like 16-18 and not really all that reliant on the income from the job. I live in a college town tho so that's prolly got something to do with it

Is your store falling apart like mine?

We've had beverage fridges out for weeks...this really doesn't look good. I tell everyone to complain about it on their survey.

    I have returned briefly.

Young Gen Zers are like that too. If it's a shit job they can walk down the street and get another shit job someplace else
