So I'm a new cashier and have been told to never use k3 (no barcode). So I typically use target app on my phone to find the dpci but it it doesn't pop up or is dollar spot i know there is some 099 code I need to type in but I don't know what it is. And also what are some common department dpci codes I can use with the 099? And my store only has 1 person who is both gsa and gstl so it takes too long to flag them down.

I know I don't know the softlines ones real well. BOYS, JLRY and ACCS I can never remember a single one for. Also I've never paid attention to any differences between PRO1, PRO2, MEAT, MTCL, DELI, MTFZ, BAKE, FRZN. Has anybody else tried to memorize these? And does anybody know which ones I might be missing? I'd like to have a complete list, as online planogram only lists it by department type, not by fillgroup, which can be different.

Thanks

At my store, every register has a list of all departments and beginning DCPI codes.

If you don't have one or the guest legit doesn't know the price, turn on your blinker for the GSA/TL to look up info on the zebra. A cashier shouldn't really be looking stuff up on their phone.

Ask your GSTL if they can get you the list. Our registers all have a list of department/class and then they just put 9999 for the item number.

If we are able we can use our phones.. but that is the ONLY reason. But our gsa's do it as well.

Please don't tell me you know all this by your heart.

(Raises hand slowly).....I do.

In fact, I also know 051 isn't simply Seasonal. It is Christmas Seasonal. Halloween Seasonal is 041. Mini Seasonal (Christmas, Halloween, Summer, Valentine's, and Easter) is 103.

I can also tell you every dept number for salesplans as well. Not that that is in any way helpful for looking up DPCIs.

Yeah, my brain is freaky and retains all sorts of weird info like this. And thensome. o_O
