In my experience, there's usually more to it than that.

I was hired seasonal and they kept me. As long as you show up on time, be open to bettering yourself and have a good attitude, it's more than likely they'd keep you.

Not true in my store. We had to let several seasonals go because there wasn't enough payroll, but they were good workers we would have liked to keep on.
