Hi I've been lurking on here off and on about a month and have worked at Target for about 2 months in Soft Lines.

I enjoy the job overall. I like my team members and a positive attitude makes it all pretty enjoyable.

However, I had a situation come up last night I wasn't sure if it was the norm, or if not, how to address.

I was on a closing shift and had a woman TM approach me (no idea what her position is) and while on the floor inform me she was asked to talk to me about my attendance. It was unacceptable and if it continued I would have my employment be terminated.

But here's the thing. I have never missed a day and have never been late. I get teased because I always show up 15 minutes early. She had no idea what days I missed or when I was late, just I needed to be talked to about it.

Is this normal? I just felt embarrassed and a bit disrespected she would do it on the floor where anyone could hear and then threaten my employment for something she shouldn't cite exam less of me doing.

No that isn't normal and its inappropriate and unfair for anyone to say those things to you in the middle of the sales floor. Talk to your TL, ETL, HR, whomever to see why they think you have poor attendance if you don't think you do, maybe something happened that you're not aware of.

Sounds hinkey as hell and unless the woman was a TL or ETL she had no reason to be talking to you at all especially in front of guests customers.
Like @Doglover89 said talk to whichever TL or ETL you are closest too.
Don't be accusatory, just ask if they had sent her to talk to you, if there was something you needed to be doing different, and let them take it from there.
I suspect they won't be too happy about her bullshit.

On that note Welcome to The Break Room.

Thank you.

It left me a bit peeved, and I wanted to make sure I wasn't overreacting and that it was out of the norm.

So far from the norm, that I wonder if it was someone's idea of a joke. Definitely talk with someone you trust.

She nor anyone has any business discussing such personal matters outside of an office. Leadership will never talk to you on the floor about something like that. Don't worry about it, talk to your ETL.
