I got a call to come in for a third interview which ended up being a brief meeting with a job offer. I was told I would receive an email within a day or two to consent to a background check. It's been three days and I haven't received the email. Right after I was called in for the third interview I got an email/task to schedule an interview which I assumed was a mistake because they called and scheduled one for me. It still shows up as a task on workday and I don't know if I should schedule an interview. The task/email didn't say anything about being for a job offer/background check. Is it possible to be rejected late in the hiring process or are the background check emails just slow to come?
