Archived Just Hired, (General Merchandise) What to Expect?

I was just hired after applying for Sales Floor TM, and was offered a General Merch. position. The STL said she would start me off in Back to School since that will be where they need most help, and later let me choose a department to own. Can someone who has done GM in the back to school area tell me what its like, and what to expect?

It would not be much different than any other area except it is a seasonal thing so maybe more busy. Hopefully, you will be trained on everything you need to know.

Seasonal is apart of general merchandise and sales floor tm is an old title for GM. You'd be pushing freight for BTS (not to get confused with best team survey), zoning,help setting any pogs and price change.

You should also expect to get reamed out by every Karen who waits until the last minute to fulfill her child(ren's) school supply list after all the items she needs are no longer in stock.

"What do you mean you don't have any yellow wide ruled composition notebooks left!? It's Labor Day and school starts tomorrow!! Find me one!!!!"

So funny I had lady two days ago who wanted something only available online and I said you would have to order online and she says I need to vacuum today!!! In my mind I answered "your lack of preparedness is not my state of emergency" 😀😀
