Hi, Spot n00b here... hired last evening for a seasonal position. I already have a full time day job, but could really use the extra cash this time of year, in fact all year, so in my interview I mentioned that; that I'd love to continue on after the holidays on weekends etc, around my regular work schedule.
I filled out the online app last Friday, was called by HR within an hour or so, and the interview set. During the second part of my interview, after I answered the question that essentially is looking for how you prioritize and multi-task, the interviewer stopped, and asked me if I like what I do, and if he could beat what I make at my FT job, if I'd consider jumping ship for Target. My FT job's salary is not breaking the bank but also not insignificant, so I'm wondering if this is typical carrot dangling, or for real.
After he made the offer as we were shaking hands and parting ways, he said he wrote down the salary he needs to beat to have me on as FT and that it's now his goal.
ANYWAY... I'm a little frightened by reading some of these horror stories (I've been reading them off and on all day) The team (the ones I've met so far) seem awesome: energetic, fun, positive, encouraging, helpful.
