Grab a snack....this is gonna be a long 1!
Can someone please explain to me why when numbers are bad and scores are red it's automatically thought that team members are the reason? Maybe it's leaders on up to the STL that are the issue. They are busy telling us all the stuff that we do wrong, how to do what we do, and how long things should take all while piling on more work when in reality they aren't physically doing it so they have no clue. Maybe leaders and above should allow their team members the time to do the job the right way instead of wanting them to half-ass it just to get more done quickly. Half-assing things only means that either you or someone working your area will have to fix the mistakes or possibly rework whatever you did because now a problem has come from it because a visit is in the building calling out the mistakes. And don't for 1 second think that they will have your back and say that they told you to do it that way. Make themselves look bad? They would never! So what happens? They throw you under the bus and make it look like you suck at your job or that you're one of the many working there that just ride the clock. Our store is being run right into the ground by someone who has no idea what he/she is doing. People are frustrated, guests included and of course trying to communicate to someone who is ALWAYS right is pointless so we just push on and try to do our best. We get no thanks or appreciation for anything but they are lightening fast in pointing out the wrongs. (Even if they weren't yours to own up to they become yours to fix/deal with). They are running their people into the ground and all the while wondering why people are so frustrated and don't want to do anything for them. My idea is.....LEAD by example and show your people some respect and I can almost guarantee you will see a complete turn-around. But what do I know? I just work here and have for a LONG time🙄. To my fellow Target workers who actually bust their ass and work hard for their paycheck just know that I appreciate you! Let's talk about it because I know I'm not the only one feeling some or ALL of the above.
