Why did they change my schedule without saying anything?

I was originally scheduled for GM in toys. That’s the only area I’ve ever worked for the past month and a half. Originally I was scheduled for Hm but I look this morning and now it says fulfillment. Why did they change it? What do the letter HOU.. mean?

Also I’ve never even been trained in fulfillment. I barely even trained in GM. I just learned how to pull the toy this week.

They probably changed you from toys to fulfillment because toys are selling down and online orders are still going strong so they need more help in fulfillment. At a certain point toward the end of the Holiday season, toys ends up being abandoned to its fate of horrible messes and empty shelves, and they always seem to need more help in fulfillment.
Why they didn’t tell you? Well, communication at Spot pretty much sucks. Maybe your leaders couldn’t be bothered, forgot, didn’t want to break the bad news, etc, but leaders in a well run and well organized store should have told you. It would have been to their advantage, too, because whoever changed your schedule may not have known that you haven’t been trained for fulfillment, and if they would have told you about the assignment change, you could have informed them that you need to be trained. Training will be provided, but dropping an untrained person into fulfillment won’t give them the productivity boost that they were probably planning on for that day.
What HOU means is store specific, so you will need to ask your leaders what it means. My guess would be housewares, but your leaders can tell you for sure. Good luck!😁

Sometimes based on hours available they will switch you on the schedule. They may have had extra fulfillment hours so they scheduled you there but, you will actually do toys. Technically my department is fulfillment I do drive up I’m always scheduled service advocate based on hours. I’m never a service advocate.

Service Advocate is Service Desk + Order Pickup/Drive Up. So that's correct. If you're doing Drive Ups, you'd be scheduled as a Service Advocate at like 97% of stores.

(Unless you're one of the 60ish stores like mine that has a separate Order Pickup workcenter, only for stores with a remote OPU desk separate from Guest Services.)
