So I'm still under my 90 day probation as a floor team member. However I recently got the position of Target Security Specialist and I start in 2 weeks. I also have a full time internship I'm doing that ends this week, and a part time weekend job. Balancing 3 jobs is a challenge, and sometimes I get my schedule confused. I was scheduled for a shift yesterday, that I was unaware of. Nobody called me or anything so I didn't show up, making 2 NCNS. Will this carry on to my new AP position? And should I be worried about losing my job with Target? Thanks.

Your attendance is on record, no matter your position.
Are you on a CA due to the NCNS?

It's your responsibility to know your schedule. At my store we are told the schedule on the wall is the official one. I always take pictures of it. I look at Kronos but again that's not the official one. I really just use that for my time card.
At my store not showing up for a shift could get your fired but if your a favorite or long time employee they might over look it one time.

At your store, is the paper schedule set in stone? Or was this where it was changed after and there was a miscommunication about the extra shifts?

Assuming your on final, you'll be cut if you get one more NCNS within the next year. But 2 NCNS within 90 days is pretty bad.

Yes, I take full responsibility. During my last shift, the paper schedule hasn't been posted, so that's why I didn't remember to work on my scheduled day.
I'm not sure if I'm on CA, last time they just told me to be careful since I'm on my 90 days, but I didn't have to sign anything.

I typically cut anyone who has attendance issues within their 90 days essentially 2 NCNS. They don’t need a reason to let someone go within their 90 days and 160 for seasonal

Wait, so there was no schedule for you to read and know your days?

2 NCNS in 90 days is really rough, OP. It will set off red flags for most leaders, as it should.

Best of luck to you, but I can see it impacting your AP gig.

Congratulations on your promotion, that's awesome.

If your management is moving you in to this new position, you just be well liked and considered a good employee. You said 2 NCNS, was one of them before you were offered the full time job?

If I were you, I would talk to HR. Let them know you understand you've had attendance issues and are concerned about it affecting your employment. Express how much you love the job, how excited you are, and throw in some of your good qualities as well. Let them know how your work situation will change with this new job (the internship is ending). Above all, drive the point home that you know NCNS are not acceptable, they are unprofessional and hurt the team. Then ask if there is anything you can do to show your dedication and commitment to the team and make up for your poor attendance. Get out ahead of the problem, admit your mistake. It could wind up impressing your higher ups, or at least lessening any negative impressions they might have.

Good luck!

Are you going to be TSS at the store you’re at now or are they moving you to a different store? If you’re moving to another store they might just shrug it off.

Just own it if they call you out on it. Just say you have 3 jobs and you’re too dumb to read a schedule. Try to be a bit more responsible going forward, you’ll need it to work in AP.

I have issues with a few of my TMs getting scheduled outside their availabilities which is why the first one is a conversation. They're minors and no one pays attention, and I'm off on Wed so can't review the schedule.

Only reason.
