    Market hrs

I wonder if the huge amount of money the company spent on their Target Together shindig the other day in Minneapolis could have been allocated to more payroll hours in stores.

    Attendance Point System

It could be used to provide more "evidence" of less-than-flawless TM performance, great way to justify reducing those cost-of-living "raises" (aka "merit" raises).

    How Target has fallen...

Sears was America's largest retailer by sales volume, and K-Mart was America's second largest retailer by sales, until 1990 when both were overtaken by Walmart. We all know what happened to Sears and K-Mart. American retailing is littered with carcasses of the deceased. One hopes this doesn't...

    Time and a half

The changes apply to the tiny number of people eligible for Labor Day as a "Paid Holiday". The vast majority of Target Store TMs only receive two Paid Holidays a year: Thanksgiving and Christmas. Grade 35 people aren't as good or valuable as the higher-ups, so they don't deserve more Paid...

Possibly it's worth talking to folks at another Target in your area. While I caution about the "greener pastures" syndrome, perhaps a different Target store with a different SD and ETLs would value your skill and talents more than the store you are currently working at.

MEGATHREAD Target shares tumble as retailer picks new CEO, says sales fell again

Here's a very useful quote from the WSJ story itself: Methinks this has been a huge problem that is seldom discussed. Drive-up orders sometimes arrive without advance notification, leading to a frantic scramble by a TM to pull the items from various shelves (and sometimes at a remote location...

    Target’s Vision

Today's quarterly financial reports were not particularly encouraging. I'm posting the URL here, but will go into more discussion in a separate discussion thread. Target Q2 earnings report to investors

    Target’s Vision

In my store, those are very recent memories. I think it changed earlier this year (2025), not when COVID started five years ago. This might be a district-specific thing.

    Spring Sales Meeting

Does that mean guests could apply for the Debit Circle Card in-store without giving us a paper check? I haven't seen or heard anything serious about this. I wish guests could apply for the Reloadable Circle Card in-store. While the Circle Credit Card and Circle Debit Card are issued/managed by...

Mandatory OT next week, flexing everyday this week???

Mandatory OT isn't a thing for grade 35 store TMs, though at times it may be for grade 45 store TLs. For ETLs, of course, there's no such thing as OT as they are classified as exempt employees. I can see why it's extremely irritating to have last-minute schedule changes. Your life includes...

    Stanley stainless mugs

Sometime around the beginning of 2025, I noticed that sales at checkout of Stanley stainless mugs/tumblers dramatically decreased. What once had been a HUUUUGGGGGE seller apparently no longer is the must-have glamour status symbol. Apparently the infatuation bubble burst against the Stanley...
