    Interview questions

I was super grateful to my manager(s) for giving me genuine and strong feedback. Some of it I used to work on flaws and improve myself, other areas I recognized are just who I am and have been able to be very upfront with my limitations. Consistent and worthwhile feedback (not just for...

    Target’s Vision

It is practical to do store side, because the store knows what setup works best for then. ASANTS and all that. There is no one-size fits all solution so the only logical choice is to have the store themselves be the expert in the area. Your real complain is lack of budgeted hours store-side...

    Target’s Vision

So I have unique insight into this because I worked at a store and then transferred to the RDC that serves that store. When the major wave of Christmas transition dropped I specifically requested to load the truck for said store. And I grabbed a dozen pallets and organized the transition...

    What will replace Ulta?

The local store that has an Ulta in it, also has an Ulta beauty store in the same lot. Seriously. It was also a nightmare at the DC side as AP because the repack boxes would fall apart so often and you would have to piece count it all and ensure every DPCI was accounted for.

Reddit post. Insurance fraud at DCs?

There are so many mini scams like this that run rampant. One of the big ones over covid was the daycare coverage. There were zero checks on any information entered so everyone and their mother (litteraly) were claiming they needed reimbursement for daycare services even with zero actual...

    Rehire after termination

So the hiring is done purely at corporate now. But each DCs HR is still able to intervene. Be warned that assuming corporate does accept an application and schedule you for orientation, your local DC's HR is able to veto that and deny you the job. Happened to two guys I knew, one of which had...

SCO is getting a bit ridiculous

Growing up I always saw ads for the Hess truck during Christmas time, and toy sets for a register also existed. There is nothing new about any of that.

[The Great] Port Strike [of October 2024]

On hold until after the election, notably. Somebody paid a pretty penny to ensure another market shut down did not occur until the next President is elected. All other conspiracies aside, I think it is important for the country as a whole that we did not add to the chaos right before the...

[The Great] Port Strike [of October 2024]

Purchase Order. Standard industry term, used to (you guessed it) order items from other companies. Its the orders Target makes to, say Pampers, to aquire material for the DC which is then distributed in-network to Target stores.

Does Target operate their own email servers for their company communication or is it outsourced to third party?

Even if it is "internal" anything IT in any major company is outsourced to India.

Target slows store theft, but at a cost to shopping experience

I argued the entire time I was in AP at the RDC we needed to start gaining more visibility over non-electronic items. So much theft DC side of smaller items like medicine and body products 4 to a pack at $25 each that were not given the same treatment as a $15 pair of earbuds because those were...

Service & Engagement Denim trade in, yikes!

Willing to bet these get sorted and the ones not totally worthless (totally ripped/holes etc.) Are sold to third world countries for a premium. Not actually broken down and "recycled"

    In the news

As is always said, all Target had to do was continue to not be Walmart. Now everything they sell is hardly better quality, and at 33% higher cost. I used to see people genuinely wear Target clothes all the time. Now I cant think of a single time I have seen someone wearing a shirt bought from...

    HR

Its just another merit job. Degree helps, kissing ass helps. I liked most of my HR team, but I definitely knew who to actually go to for help when necessary.

    Lead questioning my status

Hire date is not protected information. Not that you had any obligation to say to him yes/no. It does make a difference for some things that are relevant to leads (like if you still need to be wearing a vest) but they can go get that information elsewhere if necessary.
