If your store is profitable then things are good enough. Adjust your thinking. Is your store profitable? Then things are working out fine. Maybe your life is stressful but that doesn't mean the corporate plan isn't working the way it was intended.
The stores aren't profitable because of the process. They're profitable because the economy is currently in a good spot and Target gutted the shit out of payroll. They could have kept the same process, gutted the hours, and we would still be profitable.
The problem with the process is that it's not sustainable. Having freight pile up in the backroom while the shelves are empty and having aisles blocked by vehicles from stocking makes customers angry. Eventually, they get angry enough to shop elsewhere. Some of them tell their friends too. Profits may not see the difference today, but it will happen.
