Adding PTO to your Timecard

News to me.

So what happens to the PTO that was added from my previous pay period.

I already got paid for that week.

What if that delayed PTO added puts me over 40 hours (for both individual weeks) for that pay period.
Then what's submitted will need to be manually adjusted down by your HR when they run payroll.

My one week that manged to go through over 40 (not at OT mind you) was corrrected the following check.
As a policy, you can't use PTO for OT.

I'm glad I found this thread because I put in for some PTO that now has me at like 41.38 hours (because I ended up staying late) and they do payroll tomorrow, so I need to ask them to adjust my time off. I'm not trying to get in trouble for anything lmao

Pto come out of a different bank. It doesn’t increase your “worked hours” over 40 allowing you to get ot.
It would be 33 hours of worked time and 8 hours of pto. If hr doesn’t catch that pto needs adjusted, it doesn’t earn you ot.

You take the risk that the pto will get completely denied tho.

Depends how good your hr is.

the pto was approved last week already, so unless they go in and retroactively notice it, i'd have to say something.

i didn't think it came out of the same bucket (similar to holiday pay in that sense, i guess?) but it's good to have the confirmation. i just now how hard spot is about no more than 40 hours, so when i first saw that, i definitely panicked
