Recently, when we have a savings coupon in our ad and people can, from the store, have the coupon sent to their phone while in the store the texted coupons don't scan at my store.

The most recent examples are in the ad /text in this week's ad (July 20-26)....page 22....the $5.oo off personal care- if you spend $15.00 or more. When I scan the smart phones the screen pops up RED with a disclaimer that the guest doesn't have enough items for the coupon.

However, once you confirm the items and then SCAN the coupon in the ad, the $5.00 does come off.

Same problem with the$15.00 off of $50.00 pet food item coupon...the coupon on the back page of the ad. Again, the phone gives a red disclaimer about not having enough items......but when you scan on the paper coupon ad it does work.

A couple of months ago we had a $10.00 off on bathroom towels. Those didn't always work, so we'd have to manually put the $10.00 savings in the register.

When we had the problem with the bathroom items I did bring the issue up to a couple of our ETLs. Don't know if they ever passed along the problem.

Oh...another ad coupon/text coupon that sometimes didn't work was a pink (I believe) coupon for $5.00 off Easter candy. Again, when we'd scan the ad coupon it would work.

I don't know if this is just my store having this issue, but when I tell the ETLs I don't know if they pass the issues along. They may have passed along the problem and you might be working on it....but at the moment I now know that posting here will allow the issue to be looked into.

Hey, I am sorry to post this issue here, in this Target public forum, but there is an issue of some sort and I don't know if the proper people know about this....but I do know that the proper people will know now.

THANK YOU!!

Me too! This is a problem that affects lots of people and many only know that the phone coupon doesn't work. I'm not sure if many cashiers know.
Besides, this issue is one that if it is not resolved will only continue to give Target guests a reason to stop trying to get coupons by texting....and that will mean that money is lost.
It is a big issue and Target doesn't need another black-eye to add to its already shaky confidence. Or, should I have said a "red eye?"

I think corporate only reads the threads here where the least amount of helpfulness can happen. And even then they botch it up completely.

Half the time the guest can't even get the text. The food one was a huge fiasco for that.

Hell, I wish they would never run that damn $5 off $15 personal care coupon again.

I can only go by personal experience but I used the personal care coupon and it worked fine from my iphone.

Coupons via text message is a not a way I would ever accept a discount. I get to pay for the text and now you have my phone# and can bomb my phone with stuff. No matter if I want it or not. Costing more money.

Someone knows they aren't working because for every one that hasn't worked, we have a correction one to scan in the folders at our registers.

Except one took a few extra days, but it finally was there.
