I have to put in a availability request because of school starting. I was told I have to be available Friday nights Saturday nights and Sunday evenings.my question is do I have to put in a 8 hour window of availability or can I put in a 5 hour availibilty window? I was trying to hopefully work 5 hours a day for all 3 days. Our shifts are usually 8 hours long put I assume they can be less?Thanks

Eh if you only put a five hour window you may only get one shift a week or see your availability denied.

I'll speak for my store but you forcing your scheduler into a small window will probably annoy them.

Find out who writes your schedule and let them know you want 4 or 5 hour shifts rather than 8 but want to open your availability to give them flexibility to make it work.
