COVID-19 Coronavirus...

Too much to quote.

As far as mental illness, there wouldn't necessarily need to be underlying mental illness already, but there would likely need to be the neurological potential that was never met before. Extreme stress is linked to onset of certain mental illnesses, including depression and anxiety. I'm sure this moment in time is also capable of triggering OCD in the form of germaphobia or hoarding.

And the mean part of me is saying bring it on. Fuckers that have always said "oh, everyone gets the blues" or "everyone gets anxious from time to time" or "count your blessings" or "you just need willpower" or any other dismissive statements, I can't wait until they get to personally experience the full depths of mental hell. Kinda the concept of dancing on their grave, except they are still alive and get to watch you dance. Justice sometimes involves pain.

What is the value of a human life? Not one guaranteed a monster, not one guaranteed an angel, but the average human? What is the blood price are people willing to pay to get the economy going? Opening the economy too soon is going to exact its toll with human deaths. What proof is there that so many people have been infected that we've successfully flattened the curve enough? There are discoveries of medications that treat symptoms well enough to help some people in hospitals survive. Have we bought all the time we need for researchers to find everything that can help people live? Or is extra time useless and we should give up on buying time?

Yes, the government should have been prepared. It's not like this was unforeseen. Ever heard of pig influenza? Chicken influenza? It's been known for a long, long time that there would be something really nasty emerging that would blow through the world with the force of the Spanish flu. Hell, the Pentagon actually has plans for a pathogen apocalypse. It hit the news because they used a little bit of humor to keep students engaged in the course material.
5 Strange Facts About the Pentagon's Anti-Zombie Plan - https://www.livescience.com/45673-pentagon-zombie-attack-plan.html

Speaking of Spanish flu, ever hear of the Roaring '20s? The economy bounced back fast, even with little regulatory help. It also bounced back with help from questionable means, so I think regulatory help will be a little wiser. And there may end up being permanent changes in the social safety net, making it a stronger safety net, because so many people are now expecting that it will exist for their personal needs.

And lifting your mask and coughing or sneezing on someone is assault. Mentioning you may have COVID-19 makes it terroristic threats. Lifting your mask and coughing or sneezing when you turn your head to look at something right in front of them but not on them directly is an accident because of dust in the mask or allergy season. Just be careful how far you turn your head.

And while I can't stand masks, it's the rules and I hate promoting anarchy. It's not a level of injustice that should be responded to by protest. I hate that the whole purpose of masks is solely to put Karen's health above one's own, but the mean part of me is just waiting until cold season and knowing how to spread cold germs so Karens are miserable along with me.

Masks are fascism. My body my choice.
Stop trolling. You know that's not true. The government has the right and the power to institute mandates for the greater good and you know it, so stop acting like Americans can literally do whatever they want without regard for anyone else. That has never been the case.

If you don't want to wear a mask, then YOU stay home.

Nope. I will go outside. Without a mask. On my walks. In the park.

I know they have the power and authority to do so. I disagree with them doing it

Walks in the park are fine. You make it sound like you are going into stores or going to work and openly flouting any mask rules they have in place. Walking outside without a mask is fine as long as you maintain physical distancing. Or does that violate your right to walk or stand wherever you want, even if someone else happens to be standing in the same spot?

No it doesn't because I dont like being near people in general

If she's got it bad just wait until the island nations in the Caribbean start feeling it if this drags on. There will be tons of death and it won't be from the virus. Poverty the likes of which we have never seen shall spread through these nations.

Do a Google search for what happened AFTER the Roaring '20's. That is where this country is heading.

If it includes a President as freaking awesome as FDR, perhaps a little (ok a lot) of pain is what this country needs.

Wearing a mask says to others, "I care about you, too." They aren't just for protecting the wearer; they are for protecting those around the wearer as well.

Everytime I start to feel yucky, I worry I'm carrying the coronavirus. As much as I've been tired and nauseous, along with other stomach issues, it makes me worry. But it's never bad enough to warrant a test, as I've not had any fever or much coughing. But I also don't know if I'll be sick next week. So I wear a mask to keep my coworkers safe. Just in case I'm a carrier.

The mask is for both of us. That's how we stop this.

Good point, but most people I know prefer to be alive and poor than dead.

That was nearly a decade later, and there was no SEC then. Without the SEC the Great Recession would have rivaled the Great Depression, and there's been tightening the loopholes that triggered the Great Recession, because "it can't happen" did happen. The economy will bounce back easier.

And part of the Great Depression involved markets everywhere crashing. From how it sounds, now a lot of countries are still maintaining a functional economic system.

I don't know whats really going on and get confused. I see both sides and am torn. I get angry when guests get too close and shove their phone in my face looking for an item....when they wanna talk to me around the fucking sneeze guards whatever they are called. I am exhausted telling people please stand behind the sneeze guard even though they just placed their phone to my face minutes earlier. Please pull your mask up...omg paying with cash let me get some gloves on....this shit has me paranoid and people arent respecting the guards and not wearing the masks properly and also coming in groups. Im a little stressed out but working keeps me sane keeps me from depression. I love working and am grateful for still having a job during the pandemic. I feel like if they open up the other stores like ross and gamestop I would be less exposed at least.

Well turns out that we'll be wearing masks until the state of emergency for Chinavirua is lifted in MD. Which is expected to be months.

Thanks China.

In some counties just north of NYC they call a hoagy a "wedge." What do they call them in your county or state? "Roast Beef wedge with lettuce, tomato and mayo please."

In the PA/NJ area you can tell the old/sold Wawa stores by the stone facades they used. There are still a few around, mostly where they have successful stores but can't put a store/gas combo in the area.
