Archived Double background checks

Does Target redo background checks for internal promotions? The reason I ask is because I was promoted to asst manager at my part time job and they had me do another drug screening and background check. I thought this was weird since I had already done one before when I was first hired. I could understand the drug screening but the background check threw me off.

It depends on the position you are promoting into. ASANTS, but AP is definitely one they'd do another test for if they were to do another screen.

I had another background check when I moved from Salesfloor to AP. No second drug test tho.

Certain positions that deal with sensitive information like HR, AP and I wanna say TLs get another background check on promotions.

Okay, I just thought it was weird. Like do you get a more extensive background done? Because I know a FEW of my TLs who I'm SURE have to have a few blemishes on there record lol.
