Easter week Extremely Busy as Hell

We had literally nothing left when I left yesterday. Lost of abandoned carts though. Have been to the other stores today and they’re sold out too.

It was crazy yesterday and today. No Easter anything in seasonal. A few odds and ends at check lanes. I never ever thought we would sell thru everything because we never do. No clearance candy this year. I did opu for 2 bags last night, for myself lol, and got it this morning. They were on walkie at 11:30 calling all hands on deck. Line was back to Chem. Fucking ugly day

Christmas levels busy. Actually I think maybe worse because it's been a year with no holiday gatherings and since no one in gov't leadership were really sounding the alarm, everyone is all like "YES! A holiday! Let's celebrate!!!"

Wish that happened in our store. I was picking orders that were audited with zero on hands and the orders were coming through.

When I left yesterday they were calling for 3 people for fast service. I'm not a front end LOD or anything, but you should never need to call for that many people for fast service. Maybe schedule more than 2 cashiers on a Friday???

^^ Yeah, like how do you not look at the calendar and say "hmmmm Easter is in 2 days" maybe we should beef up our coverage a bit?

But our front end has been in the weeds all week because staffing levels are not appropriate for the level of business we have been doing.

It was really busy today. It was 250k at 7:30. Yesterday we were up 27%. I'm tired!! I'm so glad I am off tomorrow.

Thank GOD for Easter closure. Tonight was abstract levels of hell. Things got weird enough that I impulsively asked out a beautiful girl at checkout (something I would never do) and then went home and popped open a new bottle of blue cheese dressing that allegedly expired 30 months ago (it's fine).

The were closed Easter Sundays when I worked there.
Which always struck me as odd, considering it is an Religious holiday.
I had to use personal time for Passover.

I’m sure the pros and cons of closing on Easter have been debated over the years with corporate. Wal-Mart is open. However, the good PR and the fact that they can save money with no time and a half makes it more financially lucrative to stay shut. I’m glad this has continued.

I really don't remember it either! Everyone keeps saying "We've always been closed on Easter!" but I swear we were open in 2019 (which would've been my first Easter there). I normally have a great memory, so I guess I'm Mandela Effecting myself 😄

I’ve been with target since early 90s. The stores have never been open on Easter.
