Do they usually cut hours during the fall? Like before black friday? How do hours usually look after summer ends?

It does really depend on forecast for your store. Our store is busy for back to school so we get a plethora of hours.

Our hours actually stay pretty consistent from this point forward. There's a very small lull in september, but ENJOY IT. Our sales go pretty far down but our hours stay fairly consistent.. Once halloween starts to roll around, you won't have any time to breathe from then until january..

I would say anything between October and December would be good like everyone else said. If you are a team like Pog/Pricing the hours drop drastically november/december.. but you are typically given the opportunity to work Electronics/backroom/sales floor to make up those hours lost. During the transition from BTS - Halloween there is usually a slow point for sales floor, as nobody is thinking of Halloween yet

We have already been told that hours more than likely will be cut the last week of this month... but then again they usually do that the last week of every month....We have to make sure that STL gets his bonus :O)

At my store they loose the kids going back to college and also weed out the seasonal help in sept. so hours for those who stay are pretty consistant, but of course each store is different.

I have learned not to expect hours and whatever I get is great. I usually get called in when people call out because I am reliable flexible and willing to come in when they need help. I also stay later whenever they ask.
Some say I'm a fool, but I can always use the money - I just won't beg for hours, they don't need to know that I need them

True story. POG workload is insane, Halloween (in my store) sets 9/7 (candy) and 9/14 (seasonal-costumes), plus who knows what else...I can't stay plan too far ahead for what's coming up. Just getting through one day/week at a time.
