First time doing an OPU shift and I actually enjoyed it, as someone who’s done drive up and some guest service for the past 2 years it was a nice change however if I’m being honest I think I did horribly and even though I practiced stowing 3 weeks in advanced I only practiced picking for like an 1 and 45 minutes and today I had atleast 7-8 infs and on my very last batch I went over 40 minutes because I couldn’t find some style items and pet stuff. I’m a little bit scared of what the fulfillment etl and team lead are going to say and on top of that I have another shift coming up next week. Do y’all think I’m cooked and for the fulfillment team members and back ups for fulfillment do y’all have any tips and advice for me, I genuinely want to find a different department since I’m tired of doing drive up and opu was something I truly did enjoy

( for those wondering I know everything involving front lanes,GM and now opu I don’t know Starbucks, inbound and anything revolving specialty sales)

At our store first timers are given a pass. There is a learning curve. First off, speed is essential. Avoid INF by ASKING tm's/leaders to help you find things. They may know of unlocated items. Check the delivery date to know if it's in today's or rolled over freight. Use the RFID gun to find style and other soft items (bath!!) If you don't know how to use it, ASK. Pick neatly - the neater and more organized your cart is, the easier it is to pack and stow. When walking through the store, take note of end cap and side cap merchandise. If you don't know how to read a schematic, it is essential to learn. Talk to the fulfillment trainer and lead to get some tips that work in your store. Set goals for yourself as far as number of items picked in a shift and INF %. Check yourself on MPM throughout your shift and then beat that goal tomorrow.
