I had the PPO but I'm going with the HRA. There is just too much of a differnce between the out of pocket maxes. I have kids who have had health problems. It sucks because the difference is $60 a month between the PPO and the HRA. No way I'm getting a $60 a month raise. Between the new Social security tax and the HRA premium i'm taking a $100/month paycut. Seriously thinking about beginning to look elsewhere but wondering if health plans in general suck right now. I do have other skills and can go outside of retail. I have stayed for a variety of reasons but really...

Health plans anywhere outside of retail or food service kick ass.

Umm...not really...and if they are decent, they are still really expensive. My last employer group healthcare I was paying $400/month for myself alone. And the plan was ok...and that was 4 years ago.

There are companies who offer good health insurance !
My husband pays roughly $200 for family plan,a low deductible on lab work xrays of $200 for the whole family .then covers 100% .
Co pays of $10 for visit, and meds are $5 for generic $10 for other .
He has a union !

So does my wife and her health care is good too.
Goes to show what you can have when you organize.

Yes, there are decent places of employment with decent health insurance. But not every place of employment outside of retail or fast food necessarily offers great/cheap benefits.
