If you go out the fire exit and its not and emergency you can be fired at least in my state. I wonder if this is one of those asants/different state rules
In my current city, and I think most places, the result of any false alarm call to the fire department, (sprinkler heads going off, fire alarms going off, etc) for any reason including faulty systems, is a $10,000+ fine to the property (business) management. The first thing the business will do is terminate those responsible.
