Everyone at my store is overworked...especially now going into holiday mode. I cannot work one day this weekend and getting someone to cover will be impossible. There are already a couple of shifts that no one has signed up for. I'm offering $ to whoever can take my shift. Would Target frown upon this behavior if found out? I'm not loudly advertising the offer. Even with money I don't think the shift will be taken. I just hate calling out. Thanks!

That's your business if you want to pay someone. It's not illegal. Depending on your state if you pay someone for a service you have to withdraw taxes....but not unless the person you pay turns you in for failure to withdraw taxes you will be fine.
