Leadership wearing meta glasses

If an employee in leadership is wearing meta eye glasses is it assumed that whoever/TM they interact with waives their right to privacy?

After 9 months my SETL just told me they were getting “new” meta eyeglasses (through our store optical) cause his last ones the battery kept frizzing out. He then told me the perks of meta glasses are the translator capabilities.
I was stunned.. I never knew that’s what they were wearing all this time.
He has been called into ETL/SD office frequently due to tm and customer complaints of negative interactions which he denies and says are outright lies. Could he record all day and submit “evidence” next time negative emails go to corporate?

Is this normal?

Lots of answers to the question but FYI no, Meta glasses are not able to record for 8 hours straight. They can only record up to 5 minutes in a row.
So he would need to actively turn them on prior to a conversation he wanted to record.

In theory you would know he is recording because they all have a bright LED that indicates record is on. There are ways to mod the glasses to deactivate the LED but it is not simple.

Meta Glasses 👓!!?? Is this where Target 🎯 is coming to now?? I do hope that anything recorded, submitted would be inadmissible as to my knowledge, whomever is being recorded has to give their permission/consent??!!

Explain what meta glasses are.. Thanks and the United States of America thanks you as well.
Meta as in Facebook. The are smart glasses. A lot of really neat features like automatic subtitling/translating, but the major use case for most people is just using the built in camera to record.
FBs glasses are actually the least intrusive because they dont do continuous recording. Some of the other brands can record for hours.

Nonsense.
Right well 5 minutes is about the standard average of a customer engagement by a TL so maybe they pop that camera on as they walk over? I wouldn’t know if it was on or is it super obvious ?
If I m asked is it ok if I record you I ll say No.
Incidentally , the perks he touted was for its translation abilities/ however he s never around when the new hires who are esl and the one sweet guy who uses his phone with tm s and guests to translate at register .

really neat features like automatic subtitling/translating,
This would have been helpful yesterday. A guest who didn't speak much English thought our CVS was one of those minute-clinic places (it's not) and that he could get a quick diagnosis of his sore throat and a steroid shot. Nope. Thank goodness his smart phone could translate for both of us, while he explained what he was looking for and I explained the difference between urgent care and a hospital ED. (He objected to my urgent care suggestion at first, thinking it was a hospital.) Anyway, we found some throat spray for him and I told him about a nearby urgent care location.

All that said, having a TL or anyone really with those Meta glasses interacting with me would creep me out.
