So I don't know about you people but I have about had it up to "here" when it comes to the dress code at target.
I'm not saying that I don't show up to work in uniform...no even worse. I show up to work with my red and khaki and the black beanie.
I feel like some background is in order before I progress any further into this story/rant.
I've been a slave (read as: team member) for target for about 5 years now and have held just about every non-management position a not super target has to offer. An operator and bike builder are the only two I don't work regularly.
Throughout my whole career I'm seen with a black north face beanie on my head. Now it's not something I wear for only cosmetic purposes it's on my head for a reason. I regularly grow out my hair and donate it (I'm going to do it again soon for the 3rd time) and the hat helps keep my hair under control until it becomes long enough to put up into a ponytail or something.
The way the higher ups react you'd think I was walking in there with a F*** the police shirt or something. Now usually I'm not one to make waves and working promotional signing there aren't really too many waves for me to make even if I wanted to. For my hat though I'm willing to fight especially since I'm the only one who seems to be forced to adhere to this "brand" dress code rule about hats that doesn't really seem to exist in the employee handbook...well unless I just didn't see it.
So I guess what I'm trying to say here is am I the only one that deals with this kinda stuff on the regular and can any of you think of a way that I might be able to keep the hat even if it's just until hair is long enough to do something?
