Hi!

I'm new to flow, started about two and a half weeks ago.

We're currently on the overnight schedule where we've got two teams. Ours, which starts at 10pm, and cns/c+n whichever it is that starts at 4.

Our team gets a truck every night (is that usual?) and the secondary team gets one five times a week.

Does that mean we have a big store?

Also, our store likes to send females to soft lines. I HATE it over there. I've expressed my hatred, and everyone else has said that if you tell your TL and ETL that they'll keep you out of what you don't like, but I always seem to get stuck over there.

Another question, we're schedule 10-2, although the earliest I've ever gotten out was 5, and that was because I had things to do at 6, we regularly stay til 7/8, and I've been there til 9 one day. We always have a small-ish team working. Is that normal?

Lastly, I'm seasonal part-time, and I was told not to go over 20 hours a week, but on my first full week, I had 46 hours which includes the 6 I had on Sunday. Is there going to be a problem with that?

I'm sorry this is so long, thank you!

yes it would appear you are in a big store
Sometimes it is hard to get softlines help so .... if they spent time training you there it may be out of necessity. Certainly happens to a few people at my store - who I know don't like sl either.
The staying late at this time of year is certainly pretty normal.
As long as you didn't go over 40 hrs from Sunday-Saturday, u r fine. If you are on your 5th day and getting close make sure you partner with your tl/etl so that you don't go over.

1) You're probably referring to C&S. They're one of Target's perishables suppliers; the other being the Target-owned Food Distribution Center.
2) "Women go to softlines" is how flow operates here too. At my store there's only four women who aren't softlines: one's the TL, one works hardlines with the wave and the last two pretty much stay in HBA. And a couple who work on the FDC truck but that's technically not flow at my store anymore or something (its complicated). Try talking to your TL and convince them you can do more outside of SL.
3) You got those hours through picking up shifts and being asked to stay, right? As opposed to just hanging around working on stuff with nobody noticed. If leadership is asking you to extend then you should be okay.

It's funny that you say they might need the help - the person who I replaced came and asked the TL why she wasn't in soft lines anymore. I started off doing HBA and the wave, and I was in toys a few times when we had 10+ pallets over there.

Yeah, that!

2- it's such a pain. I'm not a small girl, I can lift the chemicals and market crap. Let me do something else!

3- yes! My significant other works on flow as well (he's been there about two-three months longer than me, and he's apparently a pretty good worker, so they ask us both to stay.) And where we've been getting big trucks lately they've been asking everyone to take halves. Usually only about six of us do, but since I have before, they like to ask beforehand because I don't seem to mind staying.
