New Hire without Interview?

Hi everyone! Newbie here. I applied for a job at my local DC last week and received an email today that they have offered me the position (A2, contingent upon background check). I'm super excited but I am wondering if this is "normal". I've never had a job that I didn't at least interview for! I have a ton of retail experience, but no prior warehouse experience.

Yes it normal now because of covid 19 at least at my dc. You get a phone call couple days before you report to see if still want the job.

That's been the norm in my building for a while even pre covid. You then come in for orientation, do your drug screen and they tell you what dept you're going.
