Archived Not scheduling enough people??

We have maybe 2 decent cashiers at this point.
No joke, average age of the cashiers is around 65, and I'm including the 20 year olds in this calculation. If I get called over to cashier, I can ring 3-4 guests to their one. Most people go to sco to avoid them.
Nobody applies and the ones that do, want to work a regular schedule, not the crazy 24/7 open availability Spot wants. (This applies for all departments.)

Oh yeh. Our store is in that mode where they're supposed to let the computer do all the scheduling and they're not supposed to touch it. This is when you end up with poor coverage on days when you need it and OVER coverage on days when you don't. -_-
Same here. Things are not getting done because we don't have any coverage on the front lanes before store opening. Candy is not getting pushed and dollar is not getting zoned. Looks crappy and empty. Can't sell things if they are not on the floor and if it is too messy.

I'm technically a pricing team member (moved from Softlines) but am still scheduled in softlines (mostly fitting room). I mean, I don't mind the hours, but I kinda wish I was in pricing more. Not that I don't like Softlines, but I like to have a little more variety. I get scheduled in pricing like once a week, unless a regular pricing TM is on vacation. But what bothers me is that when pricing is behind because only two other pricing TM's are trying to tackle a huge workload, and I'm not helping out because I'm stuck in the fitting room, and ETL's wonder why pricing is behind. There are more people who know Softlines. Schedule one of them for FR instead of me.

Anyone else ever had this happen to them?

At our store electronics is responsible for Toys, sporting goods, books etc stray/gobacks, zones and pulls. They also assist with seasonal.
are you sure your a high volume? what volume are you? electronics is fine, it should for the most part be end to end at this point. rest of the store sounds like it is staffed for D/C volume. if your anything over B then maybe your logistics is swallowing up payroll? are there any other teams in the store like instocks, pricing, plano, flow?

Pretty sure. We're top store in our district and have piloted a lot of programs. We have Instocks, Pricing, Plano, FF, Bike Building, Flow, etc. What I just really don't understand is why our schedule looks like this;
Wednesday:
Hardlines:
7-3
12-5
4-9:45
4-11
Saturday:
7-3
3-11

LIKE WHAT?
