They use to check on me, they found out about my Overseas Undewater Basket Weaving Ring.

Let's just say after they found me out… i’m not allowed to purchase Post -it Notes with out an ID

How much do OM and TL know about you? Can they check your background?
No. Even us in Security were not allowed to do that. Any "background check" is done by a licensed third party depending on your roles requirements (security has more strict background requirements, for example).

Target does have people who do investigations on external websites for theft related issues, but they are a very specific group and mostly focus on theft rings, not you posting a pic of you smoking a blunt on FB or whatever.

OMs/TLs arent even allowed to request to see camera footage of you whioe at work. Nor are they allowed to ask security to check on you for them.
 
Considering all the child rapists being given merit and lead positions I'd say they both don't check or care.

What's worse than being a child pornoghrapher?

Well let's see we have an inbound lww who raped some young girls at a school he worked at. Several leads have been fired for sexually harassing and stalking young women.

An ib problem solver who raped and recorded raping a young boy. Who has been under investigation multiple times for sexually harassing young guys on the ib docks.

A couple icqa guys convicted having sex with kids.

Then there's the trainers. I know of at least 2 on my shift who raped children.

Then you have all the drug addicts walking around high as a kite that the om's do nothing about and crack jokes about while endlessly preaching safety.

Our sewer lines were clogged up with needles a few months back and have had multiple people taken out in ambulances from overdosing.

Point is target doesn't care who they hire. If they promote guy who rapes children then they will promote anybody.

It's really not a joke to people but you claim to be an om and we all know what a complete joke target oms are.

There's a guy at 579 who did exactly that but works in ICQA. Dude has the creepy pedo smile/personality to go with it too.

Maybe my statement came off as callous but my point is how do you know?

Have they ever specifically said to you that they did it? Have they ever been criminally charged? Or is it all rumors gossip? Those high TMs, are they all high or just a little bit of space cadets and everyone makes comment
Target can't just drug test without probable cause which is much harder to have in a corporate than a police setting.

I worked with a guy for 10 years who's reputation got completely destroyed because of tm gossip like that. Turns out they had the wrong guy, his name and the actual criminal weren't even spelled the right way.

I can find a million articles claim "John Smith and Joe Jones" committed a crime doesn't mean its the correct person. Target TMs love to churn the rumor mill without verifying anything.

Needles clogging the toilet? I have heard that story come out of every building visited and its never been true. One time one needle clogged the toilet in a building and that person was offered rehab or termination and they chose termination.

Second, Target can not discriminate against someone who has already charged and served time for a crime committed. Regardless of personal feelings that is fact and law. If they are refusing to promote someone solely based on that it is 100% illegal.

As a TM, one has very little understanding and realization of the behind the scenes work and effort that OMs, HR, AP, and all the other leaders actually have to do and processes that are in place that have to be followed, because those same things that you feel are protecting the bad guys are actually protecting you. I thought the same way as a TM and then I saw the amount of work behind the scenes that happens and the legal red tape that you know nothing about. The amount of individual care and concern that exists behind the scenes is insane, but you'll never see it because every tm is upset because they're problems aren't being resolved within the 5 minutes they raised it.

Guess what? They care, they're aware they're working on it but like everything in life its not that easy.
 
Hal is right, you can be the biggest PoS TM, but if you are not calling in and are doing the bare minimum the hurdles that have to be jumped through for any disciplinary actions are insane. Each CA, final, and Term requests are reviewed by HR and senior management for accuracy and legitimacy, because don’t forget “targeting” can be construed as harassment.

At the end of the day, All I need someone that can competently and reliably move a box from point A to point B, while causing the least amount of drama as possible.

Not been my experience at all considering OM's routinely flat lie on CA's. I dont doubt theres red tape, but have you ever heard of a CA being overturned? No matter what or how much the OM lied or didn't do his job, it's not gonna happen

Do you think all OMs identify as male? They don't lie BTW. If you get a CA, you deserved it.

Very difficult to overturn CAs. The only one I heard of was a loafing da being overturned because the tm brought in a dr note explaining why.

hell just as an stupid very minor insignificant example that cracks me up, one OM he/she/they om, a feeder was complaining about 6 packers, OM just lies and tells him/they "I used to be a WW, stop complaining, 6 packers isn't hard". lmao. never worked a day in his/her life probably but certainly was never a target ww at least. that person cracked me up.

Well remember unless it’s an egregious violation(non-negotiables, low level harassment etc), a paper trail is required to initiate the CA, OMs can’t just assign one without HR’s reviewing it first.

I have seen a lot of CAs fall through because of lack of documented conversations, usually if it’s anything close to being a wobbler CA, HR won’t push it through.

However remember though if your OM has atleast three convos for the same thing no matter how casual the convo seems, within a 3 month period, and documents the convos it very well could result in a CA.

i know a tm who the om just kept telling them their attendance was good, (since they are required to touch base every time theres a issue). and the only time it mainly came up was when they asked to make sure it was ok before leaving sick a couple times. right until they got called in the office and wrote up. does this qualify as conversations? i suppose. but the om wrote on the ca that they had many convos stressing the importance of reliability etc etc. this flat wasn't true. the only convos were to say reliability was good. but theres no way to disprove what was wrote on the ca.

not to mention being told repeatedly absences fall off after 30 days therefore tm was good. but then saying it changed retroactively to falling off after 6 months instead, and no announcement was made about that change on purpose (tm's in multiple other depts confirmed hearing the same thing, no announcement on purpose). this doesn't even make any sense. as if they were literally trying to entrap tm's which seems to be the case.

also there was at least one day that was a vac day but was counted as an absence. even though the om said at the time, and it was the OM's mistake to begin with mind you, that it wouldn't be an issue. and multiple teammates had the same issue with being counted absent on approved vac days, so hr already knew this was a known issue with that OM. doesnt matter.

it's true about hr vetting and possibly rejecting the ca's beforehand though. good point.
