I've been working at my Target for almost a year this month. I was hired as a cart attendant but learned cashiering and service desk/OPU. I haven't been scheduled as a cart attendant for about 6 or 7 months. Does anyone here know how to get your primary job changed in the system to Guest Services? A better question would be who would I go to for that?

It really doesn't matter as you get paid the same regardless. Your TL would be the one to initiate that change (I have to change two of my people as they were hired under the wrong workcenter).

I believe HR can get you keyed into whichever workcenter you have the bulk of your hours.
Thats false I asked my ETL HR to make me permanently to Market last year when I was scheduled there like 25+ hrs every single week all the way to Sept and he decided to make me go to logistics since it was business needs HAH~ I believe I made a difference in the summer last year prob even increased morale that kept the old team stay at Spot after I left went to Flex it was when they got shit on all the seasonal left even great ones from Q4 and til then it snowballed to now with indefinite game plan.

I guess ASANTS then, we dont have an ETL HR, but our HRTL was required to have all of our TMs keyed in their primary workcenters, which was explained as whichever department they had the most hours in.

Who do we ask to key us into an entirely different work center? All of my hours are scheduled under guest services, but I'm keyed in under GM. Issues are developing with having a TL in one department but my primary work actually being under another TL. Can HR just rekey me to the workcenter that she always schedules me under?

That is what mine did for my team. I had a few TMs that were predominantly market, but they were keyed unload. Since their hours were in market most of the time, she keyed them that way.

Thanks. I will talk to HR next shift and see what she can do.

yes, they can rekey. Note that starting next month all GSTMs and Cashiers and GSAs will have the same workcenter code. You must be rekeyed before mytime goes down to ensure it transitions ok.

your primary job in mytime and your job key in workday literally affects nothing

It affects where mytime will drop you in and what leaders theoretically give your review

i don't know of any stores that don't make ANY changes to the myTime generated schedule. if the TM is on a set schedule in myTime then the primary job won't affect that either

My store nowadays makes very minimal changes (at least to front end).

HR is likely waiting for the new work centers to drop in, then most TMs will have to get switched over.

If you have any questions about where you’ll be keyed by the end of the month please partner with HR or your TL soon. One of them will be able to tell you what your new job title will be and you’ll want that to be keyed in correctly by the end of the month. MyTime will be down for a couple of weeks while a lot of things get imported over and migrated out, basically another revamp. The new titles have to be in place before that happens, but they haven’t dropped in yet.

Other than duties, is there any difference between Carts and Cashiering?

I was initially hired years ago as a cashier. Then eventually pushed into carts. Then after a few months, I got put onto Guest Service. I don't remember any pay differences between the two. I always reported to the same TL.

One store conned me into working Food Ave saying all new cashiers had to learn it.

The only difference is where MyTime will pull hours for you, the pay rates are the same for cart attendants and cashiers. And up until now with the elimination of varying paygrades for TMs Food Ave was a higher paygrade than carts/cashier 🤷‍♀️

before being gsa, i was keyed as cashier and mytime auto scheduled me all guest service even though i was keyed as cashier. my gstl wanted my hr to change it and she told me it didn’t matter for me because it was autopopulating me guest service shifts already.

You could’ve had primary job cashier secondary GS. that’s how I was for a while and did get some GS shifts but then I was switched to primary GS and got almost only GS shifts.
