Archived Question about requesting time off

I will be taking off November the 4th to the 21st to take a trip to Japan. I was wondering if I can request this time off now online, or if I should talk to someone about it first. The thing is, I'm not sure who exactly I should talk to. I'm just past my 90 days and I'm still not really familiar with everyone in leadership. I was thinking my ETL-HR would be who I need to talk to but I'm not sure when would be the best time: during break, before my shift, or after my shift?
