What is scans with locations, what and how does it cause it and how can I improve the score? Thanks.

When researching anything that you scan that is located in the backroom is a scan with location. If you have not carefully researched in a while it will be high. Plano needs to drop their POGS, push them, then go back and shoot an exf 1x before you research that area. This will also help. Flow (and anyone else who pushes) needs to push to the piece and check for multiple locations. I'm sure there are more but these are the big three.

how can I improve the score?

By telling your logistics team to get their rears in gear. 😀 Scans with locations is basically an indication of whether or not they're doing their part (remember, that's the whole point of having the instocks process). If you have a high percentage, either your flow team and/or CAF pushers are not pushing to capacity or your accumulator is screwed up (is the backroom team not finishing their backstock and/or burning batches?). Also, sales floor locations could be empty because of unfinished push and/or re-shop.

How does the system know? Items that are backstocked after a scan? I do see high scores, for example meat (although the it is not researched on p-fresh truck days).

If an item is scanned, the system will recognize whether or not that DPCI is currently backstocked in any backroom location (i.e. the item was already backstocked when you shot your research). If you have empty sales floor locations for items that are currently in backstock, that will add to your score because the items aren't being pushed to the floor like they're supposed to.
