Using Sick Time

A co worker thought that we can now use sick time just like vacation time, for example, to add hours to our paychecks on weeks when we're scheduled less than 40 hours....is this true? I didn't think you could, just vacation, not sick. I've been using vacation hours to pad my checks...and now only have 2 left, however, I do have 196 sick hours since I rarely call out. Can I use those as well?

There are people at my store who do it. I’ve never done so not sure if you can.

I've used it for dr's appointments (check-ups for the kids, wellness checks, etc).

I don't think so, but if we can, that would be great. Hardly ever call off so I have a pile of hours saved up.

well I asked my ETL (gm) and he said he thought we could. He of course warned me about using them all up and not having any left if I would ever need to call out. But I went ahead and put in 4 hours today, we shall see what happens. Figured it couldn't hurt to try.

well, it seems to have went thru. It was subtracted from my available sick balance and has the check mark in the app. :🤷:
